Meals & Accommodation

All accommodation, meals and entertainment are being provided free of charge for the Marcus Minds Weekend. Participants will need to be at least 18 years of age by 10th September 2020 and eligible to come to Marcus Oldham in 2021.

Accommodation will be individual single rooms with shared facilities in part of the student hostel. All linen, bedding and towels will be provided.

All meals are provided beginning with a BBQ dinner on Friday night and concluding with lunch on Sunday. Please advise any special dietary requirements by email to courses@marcusoldham.vic.edu.au

All organised entertainment including after dinner speakers will be provided free of charge.

Participants will be required to make their own travel arrangements to and from the College.

Here's some frequently asked questions
Practical/industry placements that range between two weeks and ten weeks for the various programs are usually without payment although some employers will make a nominal payment. Quite often these placements provide an opportunity for future employment.

There are no subject pre-requisites for entry into the Diploma of Equine Management. You are required to meet the entry requirements and be interviewed before an offer will be made.

Marcus Oldham College is spread across 500 acres on the outskirts of Geelong, near the Great Ocean Road and just one-hour from Melbourne.

For the Diploma of Equine Management course there are extensive facilities that include but are not limited to:

  • Private indoor arena with 24 hour access for students
  • Outdoor sand arena
  • Undercover round yard
  • Two stables
  • Hot and cold wash-bays
  • College float
  • Horse crushes
  • Large paddocks

Yes, however applicants that have not completed Year 12 or equivalent qualification will have to demonstrate significant post-secondary school experience during their application and interview.

If you are in Year 12 currently and want to study in 2021, we encourage you to apply now. Each applicant will be interviewed and their application assessed using a ranking scale based on a combination of academic results, work experience and the interview. A provisional offer may be made dependant on the successful completion of year 12 and the submission of results.

You can apply for entry into the 2021 Diploma of Equine Management now. Places are in the course are limited and those who apply after all the spots have been filled will be put on a wait list in the event a place opens up. We encourage students to apply as soon as possible if they intend to study so they do not miss out on a place in the course or the on-campus accommodation. You can apply online here.

The postgraduate units are delivered online via a Learning Management System called D2L. Majority of the units are offered at each enrolment except for those with a workshop component (LDP605 and ARM503). You can individually tailor a study plan to include a combination of part-time and full-time study, and the flexibility to choose the order in which units are taken.

Full details on the courses and units offered can be found on the website. New students will be requested to complete the compulsory core units (CMI502 and ASA501) in the first four units of study, regardless of whether they are enrolled in the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Master course.

The postgraduate program has several enrolment intakes that align with the Trimesters.

Census & Fees due: 19/06/2020

Trimester 3 – 2020

Application closing date: 20/07/2020

Trimester 1 – 2021

Application closing date: 11/12/2020

Enrolment closing date: 18/12/2020

Census & Fees due: 26/02/2021

The enrolment process requires you to submit a copy of your curriculum vitae and certified transcript of results to the Director Postgraduate studies. To complete the eligibility process you will also need to answer some questions and do a brief phone interview.
