Guest speaker – Tracey Hayes


Tracey Hayes is the guest speaker for the 2023 Marcus Oldham Foundation Cocktail Party.
Ms Hayes is traveling from her home in Darwin to address the guests at this year’s event, which is a annual highlight for the College and its supporters.
Ms Hayes is the Chair of the Federation Board of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, recently appointed in November 2022. She has also been a board member of Cooperative Research Centre for Developing Northern Australia, Advisory Board member of the National Recovery and Resilience Agency, and a member of the Council of the Order of Australia.
Ms Hayes rose to national prominence leading the live export industry’s successful Class Action over the impact of the Federal Government’s 2011 Indonesian live export market suspension – notably winning an expected $600 million in compensation for producers and beef businesses.
In 2014, she become the first female to lead the Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association in its 30-year history, having worked her way up from a producer and director on the board to chief executive over 18 years.
Ms Hayes has been named one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence, owns and runs a successful small business and is the mother of four sons who are sixth generation Territorians. She grew up and was educated in outback Australia. While never expecting to attend university, she pursued a lifetime of education and knowledge, persistence and extraordinary determination.
