Marcus Oldham College Announces Closure of Equine Program

Marcus Oldham College has made the decision to discontinue the Equine program at the end of the 2025 academic year due to a steady decline in enrolments and interest. Despite recent curriculum updates aligning it with our Agricultural and Agribusiness programs, enrolment numbers have not reached a sustainable level.

In early 2024, the College Council engaged an independent consultant to review the program thoroughly and present options. After careful consideration, the Council has made the difficult decision to close the program. A full teach-out will be conducted in 2025, ensuring continuity for students in the final cohort.

We sincerely thank our Equine program graduates for their contributions to the College and to the Equine, Agribusiness, and Agriculture industries. Many have gone on to achieve remarkable success, and each has played an important role in the College’s legacy.
