Our Foundation
The role of giving at Marcus
Unlike other tertiary institutions, Marcus Oldham does not receive any formal funding from governments. All income from fees supports our operations, and teaching and learning programs.
The College is solely reliant on the philanthropic generosity of our community to finance our bursaries and scholarships, our capital improvements to buildings and new infrastructure,
The learning and living facilities, indoor and outdoor recreational spaces, technology and exceptional educational offerings we have at the College are due to the generosity of past students, current and past parents and staff, and friends of Marcus Oldham.
There have been consistent upgrades and renewals over the past 60 years, ensuring the College delivers the best learning environments for our students. In addition, corporate sponsorship supports the work of the Foundation, helping to underwrite events and activities such as guest lectures and our overseas study tour program.
Since its establishment, the Foundation has driven the College’s fundraising efforts, securing $17 million to achieve key projects, including:
- Construction of the Principal’s residence
- Creation of a new Social Room and Gym
- Redevelopment of Lecture Rooms
- The Baillieu Wing for student accommodation
- The Douglas Boyd Learning Centre
Marcus Oldham College is a registered charity. Donations can be made by way of a one–off gift or by committing to an annual pledge. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
