Thanks to the generosity of Marcus Alumni, close friends and industry partners, the Marcus Oldham Foundation has raised $9.8 million for the new student accommodation building.

Set a target of $10 million just over 12 months ago to fund construction of the 45-bed student residence, the College community has ensured this new accommodation facility will be ready for the 2025 student intake.

We have seen an extraordinary outpouring of support and are incredibly grateful to all those people who have donated to this campaign, investing in Marcus Oldham, future students and Australian agriculture.

Since our last update, Alumni Jim Riordan DipFM’93, Graduate of Excellence 2017 and Kate Riordan, and Riordan Grain Services, have committed a $1 million interest-giving loan to the 45-bed project.

In August, College Council Chair, Rob McGavin, received notification from Mrs Gina Rinehart AO, Executive Chairman of Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd (“Hancock”) and Founder and Patron of the National Agriculture and Related Industries Day (21st November each year), that Hancock wished to contribute $2 million to Marcus Oldham to assist the College to prepare the next generation of Australian agricultural leaders.

We will have much more to say about Hancock’s contribution in the coming months.
