Marcus Oldham is a leading Australian agricultural college, specialising in under-graduate and post graduate qualifications in Business, with a targeted focus on the Agriculture, Agribusiness and Equine Management Industries.
Approximately 165 co-educational adult students from across Australia reside on the Waurn Ponds campus within the College.
We are currently seeking several positions to enhance services within our onsite catering and accommodation team.
- Dining Room Assistant
The dining room assistants are a critical function within the very popular and appreciated provision of meals at the College.
Key duties include:
- Serving meals,
- Clearing tables and washing dishes and crockery
- All related general duties for the setting and clearing of the dining room.
Dining room assistants are critical in ensuring the smooth running of mealtimes at the College. While experience in a similar environment isn’t necessary, reliability, an ability to be proactive to ensure tasks are completed and to work positively and as part of the team is essential.
Hours of Work (term-time):
- 5.00pm-8.00pm Monday to Friday (5 days per week)
- Some additional hours may be available.
- Possibility of taking break during term breaks (when students are not on campus)
Cleaning Attendant
Cleaning attendants work as part of a team to ensure the accommodation facilities are maintained to a good standard.
Key duties include:
- Vacuuming
- Cleaning Windows
- Dusting and Wiping
- Rubbish disposal
- And related cleaning duties for common areas.
Cleaning attendants are required to have the ability to work well on their own and as part of a broader team to ensure the accommodation facilities are well presented.
An eye for detail, reliability and a pro-active attitude are essential.
Hours of Work (term-time):
- 4-hour shifts (flexibility of hours on offer)
- Mon-Fri (5 days a week)
- Some additional hours or weekend work on occasion.
- Possibility of taking break during term breaks (when students are not on campus).

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

GENERAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- High-level computer skills
- Practical knowledge of Agricultural industry, or ability to apply knowledge to this sector.
- Ability to translate theory to engaging content (academic teaching experience will be highly regarded, however displayed ability to deliver presentations in professional settings will also be considered).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline
- Master’s Degree (highly regarded)
EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience in chosen area of expertise, preferably within the Agricultural or Equine Industry, however ability to apply knowledge to this industry will be welcomed.
- Ability to translate theory to practice and engage young adult learners.
