College Council
Marcus Oldham College is Australia’s only independent Agricultural and Agribusiness College delivering higher education qualifications. An unlisted public company, Marcus Oldham College, is a company limited by guarantee, a registered charity in Australia under the ACNC and a Deductible Gift Recipient.
The Board of Directors of Marcus Oldham College is known as a Council and its Directors are known as Councillors. Each Councillor is a Member of the company and each Member is a Councillor. As a charity and a company limited by guarantee, there are no shareholders and all or any surpluses are retained for the benefit of the Marcus Oldham College.
The Council is responsible for the governance of the College and as the Council and the Membership are one and the same, the responsibilities of Councillors are significant.
Council members receive no remuneration and are expected to cover their own out of pocket expenses such as travel and accommodation
