The annual Marcus Oldham Foundation Cocktail party was an outstanding success, with more than 250 guests enjoying the function at Zinc in Federation Square, Melbourne.

It is now 12 months since the new $10 million 30-bed accommodation wing opened last year. Thanks to a Victorian Government grant of $2.5 million, and the extraordinary generosity of the Marcus Oldham community, we can now accommodate 150 of our students on-campus.

Early in March, our students went on an extended domestic study tour which saw them travelling around Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.

Study tours play an important part of the education program at Marcus Oldham with students seeing theory put into practice and giving them the chance to learn from experienced managers and industry leaders.

Steve Merriman DipFM’73, Jude Merriman, Emma Merriman, Matt Merriman AdDipFBM’01 and Charlie Downer DipFM’72 are the proud owners of ‘Right You Are’, winner of the Ladbrokes Victoria Gold Cup over 2100m at Sandown on 25^th February and the TAB Australian Cup Prelude over 2000m at Flemington on the 11^th of March 2023.

Current and past Marcus’ students headed south to the Australian Dairy Conference in Hobart from 15-17^th February, adding to the record-breaking attendance numbers. The students, all recipients of the Dairy Farm Managers Scholarship sponsored by Dairy Australia joined the 600 farmers, industry representatives and other undergraduate students from across Australia.
